DARWIN, NT - CONTRACT/ TEMPWe are seeking an experienced Principal ICT Solutions & Security Architect to join our Strategy and Architecture team on a 2-year contract. This is a senior, hands‑on role responsible for shaping and governing secure, sustainable ICT solutions that align with organisational strategy and regulatory obligations.
You will work closely with executive leaders, senior business stakeholders and ICT teams to ensure technology investments are well‑designed, secure, and deliver long‑term value.
About You
You are a senior architecture professional who brings strong leadership, influence and technical depth. You thrive in complex environments and are comfortable working with executive stakeholders to shape strategic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of enterprise‑wide solution and security architecture strategy
Define and govern solution architectures across portfolio and initiative levels
Partner with business and ICT leaders to align technology decisions with organisational priorities
Establish and maintain solution and security architecture frameworks, standards and governance
Guide prioritisation of solution approaches with senior leadership
Research emerging technologies and recommend innovative, future‑ready solutions
Develop architecture tools, templates, models and communication artefacts
Provide expert advisory services on ICT risk, security, sustainability and compliance
Support enterprise architecture vision, principles and standards across the organisation
Essential Requirements:
Minimum 8 years’ experience in senior ICT architecture roles
Strong expertise across solution, security, enterprise and governance architecture
Proven experience developing and governing architecture frameworks and practices
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Strong analytical, technical and strategic thinking capability
Demonstrated leadership in remote or hybrid working environments
A people‑first approach and collaborative working style
Desirable:
Tertiary qualifications in ICT or a related discipline
Industry certifications (e.g. architecture or information security)
Experience in utilities, government or similarly complex environments
Familiarity with frameworks such as TOGAF, SABSA, NIST or equivalent
SFIA Level 5 or above (or equivalent)
